Consider -himem for example. -himem doesn’t do anything unless your system has less than 62 MiB of memory. It seems pretty unlikely that a player would try to run a modern version of Descent 3 on a system with less than 62 MiB or memory, and if they do, then it’s probably fine if the game runs in low memory mode.

There’s probably at least a few different command-line options that are no longer relevant, and it would be good to remove them.

I am sad, I can't use my retro rig with a Voodoo3 / Voodoo5 card anymore because 1.5 would not run on the Windows 98 I need because drivers don't work anymore in W7+ (because 1.5 is 64bit only based). I don't know how many peeps would be interested in using their old rigs anymore but I thought I'd put my 2 cents in...

If that’s the case, then you should really open a separate issue for Windows 98 support so that way your feature request doesn’t get forgotten about when this one gets closed.

At the same time, if there’s a list of command-line options that you think that we should keep for the sake of Windows 98 users, then I encourage you to post them here. It would be really valuable feedback.
