This is likely because someone distributed a modified version of this app, including malware. This app is not ransomeware because it doesn't even have access to your files. |
Could you further describe what malwarebytes told you, please? |

I don't think I can do something about this. It also says it's "potential ransomware" so I guess it's some permission which triggers this. |

OK,... Short Info: Have some knowledge in this field... E.g. I help at the moment BleachBit to be no more detected as virus, too... So steps to go are IMHO:
So... I did it, and... was a surprise for me to: Here the link with the result: I used the APK from GitHub... Guess the APK on F-Droid is the same... (?) And about the Account on VT: OK, just try a install, again... 😁 |
The GitHub release is the same version as on F-Droid and the Play Store. |
I was going to install this from fdroid, but malwarebytes stopped me saying it was ransomware.
