Describe the bug

I've been playing on this mod pack for about 50 hours. This evening, I updated the pack to version 1.7.0. Since the update, Minecraft has been crashing literally every few minutes of gameplay, and sometimes it crashes during startup or even while loading the world. It has probably crashed about 5 times within 1.5-2 hours.

Steps to reproduce

  1. You have an existing world on version 1.6.0.
  2. You update the pack to version 1.7.0.
  3. You experience frequent game crashes.

Expected behaviour

Do not crash

No response

Additional information

Once, the game crashed when I had relic boots equipped, which make you bounce off the ground a few times after jumping (similar to roller skates?). Then I took them off, and after the first jump without them, the game crashed.
Most of the other crashes happened when I was doing things in the ME Crafting Terminal, although I don't think all of them were related to that. I can't point to one specific action that caused it.

Could you try installing a fresh instance of the modpack and see if the issue persists?

I tried the "repair" option to re-download (as I understand it) all the mods and so on. I’m not sure if this is equivalent to deleting everything and downloading it again, but either way, it didn’t help.
I’ll try doing what you suggested this evening and let you know if it helped.

Alright, after backing up my world (the contents of the "saves" and "backups" directories), I tried the following steps:

First attempt:

  1. Deleted the existing instance and re-downloaded it.
  2. Placed my world into the saves directory and tried to launch...
  3. The game still crashes during startup, and I wasn't able to load into my world even once.

Second attempt:

  1. Deleted the existing instance and re-downloaded it.
  2. Placed my world into the saves directory, but this time using the backup, and tried to launch...
  3. The result was basically the same as the first attempt.

Third attempt:

  1. Deleted the existing instance...
  2. Tried to create an entirely new world...
  3. I wasn't able to load into the newly generated world even once because it keeps crashing during world generation. I have to admit, getting the game to launch at all already feels like a success...

The game crashes more often during startup than it launches successfully. I've been struggling with this for an hour and I'm starting to lose patience. Judging by other people's bug reports, it seems to work for them somehow. So I wonder if it's some kind of environment issue on my end?

If you need specific logs, let me know which ones. I still have a bit of patience left to provide them...

Previously, on version 1.6.0, everything was more stable for me. However, even then, whenever I opened the quests, the game would often freeze for a moment, and every time I wondered, "Will it crash or not crash?" Now, my question has shifted to, "Will it even launch at all or not?"

I downgraded to version 1.6.0.

The first time, Minecraft launched successfully.
The first time, I created and entered a new, clean world.
The first time, I loaded my restored world from the backup.

When confirming a change in GUI scaling... crash... yep.

I also notice a significant pause when opening the quest menu. It's been there since version 1.5.0 when I first installed this modpack.
