As the step saves the contents of the Java KeyStore within the step meta, if the service account's key is deleted (to be replaced by a new key), the ETL developer must open each transformation and update every copy of the step.
It would be easier to provide a variable-supported setting that allows the ETL developer to point to the file path of the p12 key file. This would allow them to update a Kettle Variable with the path to the file, and it would take effect immediately after restart of the Carte server.
Also, this prevents the use of Lifecycle Management, where separate service accounts may be used for development and production systems.
