A new input field would be nice, beside full text and buttons.

why :

  • full text are problematic for anonymization purposes. User tent to input personal stuff in there and it is a pain / impossible to handle in real time. It prevents the use of Openfeedback.io in a RGPD-enforced environment
  • buttons are great : simple and effective. Yet, they tend to be hard to exploit for large vote numbers.
  • cursors (list of values / comboboxes / numbers from x to y / ... ) are mandatory to use in many orgs, as a common simple metric to compare many events between each other. Although they can be very subjective, which make them a bad choice for small audiences.

A cursor can be presented in many flavors.
A simple one is a combobox with entries like " 3 - I learned something ".
Another could be a slider snapping on values. this is nice but often becomes an accessibility trap.
The infamous "amazon 5 stars" is another possibility.

This needs further thinking; I'm unsure about the design. A slider snapping could be nice, given the left and right text as references for those values.

Another possibility would be to have a list of values and use them as radio buttons, as you mentioned. This could also fit the current design system more easily with the number of "Chips" displayed there.
