API on images

We wonder whether it is now necessary and what added value it has, to implement API coverage or API tiles for the images. There is a widely used WMTS. Is that enough for the short term and can we see the OGC API coverage as a growth path to next years?

How do you make the aerial photos available for HVD?

I don't know what the plans of the data providers in Germany look like, but currently the ortho images are usually provided through Atom Feed and Open Search or WCS.

At the moment the provision of ortho images in our SDI (and thus for INSPIRE) probably won't change due to HVD.
