[Bug] Crash on start up #122
Comments
Just to add - I tried the DXVK fix (Use DXVK ) and the game wouldn't load at all then. My CPU doesn't have integrated graphics. |
Do you have DPI scaling enabled for your monitor? |
I do have DPI scaling active. Will reverting this to native fix the issue? |
Give this a try: #106 (comment) Also, double checking, your video settings in the launcher are set to default / original for both internal resolution and internal upscaling, correct? |
I’ve actually since removed DPI scaling as it was causing issues in other applications. The MGS crash still persists unfortunately. I also don’t use the new upscaling features - everything is set to original. |
Issue Summary:
I’m having a strange technical issue that I wonder if you could help me with?
On both MGS2 and 3, occasionally, when I load the game through the launcher it’ll pop up the game in a small window and my mouse cursor will be tied to the centre of the screen. I’ll need to ctrl alt delete task manager to kill the game (I’ll get an application crash error in event viewer).
I decided to disable the launcher and, while I don’t get the above issue, occasionally the game won’t load at all and will again show an application crash error in event viewer.
In all instances the game will run on the second attempt (after the crash) without issue.
Just wondering if you have any thoughts on this or if there’s anything I can try. Let me know if you need more info.
Cheers :)
