What will happen in your session?

“We will talk about how music is impacted by the internet today and how we can improve it. Then we will do some hands on music making to bring out our creative side”*
This submission is prepared by *Sophia, twelve-year-old-girl, who has been an active Mozfest participant for five-years. After Mozfest2017 she felt ready and asked me to help her submit this proposal.
First, Sophia would like to open a discussion about the impact the internet has in music. Then she will teach everyone how to make music by showing all the participants how to use a sequencer, which is freely available on the web.
By the end of the session everyone will walk out with their own music creation.

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

“The goal or outcome of my session is to first talk about how music is changing due to the internet. Second show people how we can make better and more original music using the internet. Third to help people discuss why music plays a big role on the internet and our day to day lives.”*
*All quotes are Sophia’s response to this questioner.
Sophia is planning to make this an open discussion about how everyone, especially children are experiencing music through the internet. She wants everyone to share their experience and then give something back by teaching a few tricks on an online electronic sequencer. Her main goal is to expose everyone to different opinions and experiences about music creation.

If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.

Computers connected to the internet to access the free sequencer. Also, headphones for each computer as it will get very loud otherwise while people experiment with the music creation.
