It would be nice if COMBINE archives could be created from objects that are only in memory, e.g., an SBML document that is a Java object and not the content of an actual file. By this, one could generate COMBINE archives directly from memory. It seems, right now, all (SBML) documents have to be serialized before they can be added to the archive.
