Is there an existing issue for this?

  • I have searched the existing open and closed issues.

Description

I just updated the WeakAura addon through Curseforge, 5.8.0 (2023-10-08).

It has a note that reads:

NOTE: This version has a change that affects some aura's scaling. If you log in and things look different and you just want them to look the same as before, go to the "Position Settings" in the "Display" tab and disable "Set Parent to Anchor".

Followed by "If, after doing that, things still don't look right, please create an issue!"

I created (just now) a Dynamic Group, Checked "Group by Frame" > Nameplates, then set Position Settings to "Set Parent to Anchor"

I then added a simple icon aura inside of that and chose
Type: Aura
Unit: Nameplate
Aura Type: Debuff
Name(s): Imprison
Auto-Clone (Show All Matches): Checked

should that icon still scale/fade when selecting/de-selecting the nameplate or moving away/closer as it did before 5.8.0? or am i just doing something wrong?

So where doesn't it look right?

The icon doesn't scale like it used to when the nameplate grows or shrinks, prior to the update if you clicked on a nameplate and it got bigger so would the icon, now it stays the same size but its unclear if that's a setting/user thing or an actual bug or difference in execution/design.

but as a user i'd expect the icon to scale and change opacity with the nameplate as it grows/shrinks/fades as it did before and also indicated by the tooltip.

also as a general note in addition to the above, i can see the size difference just as-is, like they're smaller now then before.

Another example is its translucency, it used to match the nameplate but now does not in addition to the scaling.
