Watch progress sync? #320
-
First of all, thanks for this fantastic app! Does it sync watch progress (i.e. 50 mins watched out of a 90-min movie) between backends, or just watched/unwatched status? |

Hi, Sadly only watched/unwatched, i investigated trying to sync watch progress before and it was rather unviable for the way we do the sync. It might be a feature in v2 releases. but it's something i would like to support at some point if possible. |

I used to use plexembysync which is no longer developed since 2022 (https://github.com/AAndyProgram/PlexEmbySync) this program can save watch progress between master and slave server. However the limitation of that app was that it must be run in Windows, and it can only sync in one direction (why I moved to watchstate) maybe that project can help with how it was done? Just an idea. |

Sorry to bother, but after screwing up and having to reinstall Watchstate, everything works but Plex and Emby are not syncing watch progress anymore (it did work before I had to readd the backends). I am linking to the webhooks by local IP. (192.168.X.X) I am watching something in Plex and stopped watching hours ago midway through, but Emby only reports stop and start states, but not the progress of the episode! In activitylog.db (EmbyServer) Environment |

I copied the portions of the log here (I stopped and started during lunch and then subtitles stopped working, bit of an odd issue lol)
So it seems like it is not registering progress., I also have a bunch of season 00x00 errors (various shows) reported by Emby that I need to try and fix. |

Looks like both backends are getting the same metadata They are both set to import and export (I imported the full db from Emby first before exporting it to Plex) in the beginning. BTW that is the most recent history log, so there is no playback stopped after it, |

They both report the same thing (Plex and Emby backends > History stopped at 10:44 mins of the episode)

Alright I will start watching something else and see if that registers, the weird thing is, Emby shows it as Unplayed in the app and web app. |

Edit: playing episode in Plex Same thing, seems to register at the Emby backend just fine, but there's no progress shown in the Emby apps, just shows in the dashboard as 'Unplayed' the Task log updated within seconds of playing.

Shows as paused in Emby backend, nothing in the apps though! |

btw Emby and Plex only have one user, so I did not bother setting match id. |

The last on_progress event that was recorded is below (there are none after it). Also on opening a report can I link to the first post here (saying watch progress not being synced or something?) |
