Hershey font? (single-path font for pen plotters, CNC machines, etc)

Would it be possible to convert this to a Hershey font, a font that is a path rather than a shape, for use on pen plotters?

That would be very cool, and may indeed fit the spirit of the project!

This would probably be a relatively big task, and there are no current plans for it, but I’d love to do it someday. I’ll keep this issue open just to keep the idea around.
