Hi! this mod is amazing for decoration, but I have found the placement options for these lights to often be very limiting, and several others I've talked to feel the same way.

It would be amazing if these could be placed more flexibly, to really let the community's creativity shine. (pun somewhat intended)

I would suggest at least looking into adjusting their placement properties- currently they appear to be inherited from lanterns?
This leads to several placements that are not allowed despite seeming completely intuitive- and the few allowed placements don't make as much sense because these aren't center anchored like lanterns are.

Personally, I would suggest leaning strongly towards more flexible placements for these blocks- the more I mess with their current "illegal" placements in builds, the more interesting uses I find for them. These things have a lot of potential!!

Here's a diagram of different placements!
Red indicates a placement that is currently invalid and requires tools/cheats.
Green indicates a placement that the mod currently allows.
Cyan on the left is to demonstrate cases where a block does not break when supporting blocks are broken. Candles are a good reference in that they follow stricter placement rules, but their supports can be removed afterwards.
EDIT: oh! and not included on this list, placing fairy lights on the sides of other fairy lights is a surprisingly useful placement as well! you can make little zigzags quite nicely (ie on the tree below!)

At the end of the list, I demonstrate wall placements and the ability to bridge gaps. This is a case where the lights are technically not suspended from any adjacent block, yet it makes a lot of sense for them to be strung this way!

Because of possibilities like these, I would personally love to see these lights follow a similar behavior to candles: not breaking when their support is removed. (see the arrow in the diagram above!) This is perhaps secondary to the greater flexibility of placements, though it would bring out a lot more potential.

I think it would really be worth looking into the placement rules for these blocks more closely, and reworking them to allow much more flexibility for players!! These have a lot of character, kudos to the team :>

Here's an example from my village plaza using some of these currently invalid placements ^^
