User story

As a design system contributor...
I want the GCDS Header to align with the Global header...
so that end users have a consistent experience across government pages.

Acceptance criteria

  • The Header aligns with the design.canada.ca Global Header in visual styling, functionality, and sub-components

    • Spacing matches component grid (reduced)
    • Has sign-in button
    • Font: Lato
    • Ensure signature meets FIP

Done when

  • Reviewed by a designer
  • Reviewed by a developer
  • Reviewed by DTO
  • All new variables for sub components and new header elements in Figma
  • EN component is ready for merge
  • FR component is ready for merge
  • Update requirements doc

  • Header guidance updates
