New User Creates Orphaned Team

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a new user after going through the bill creation process
2. Click the "Create a Team" button
3. The team won't be connected to the user that created it.

Weirdly doing this a second time after logging in worked, so this may be challenging to reproduce.

My experience: I modified the team index page to display the number of members of each team.
1: Make new user. Land on leaderboard page.
2: From leaderboard page, hit create new team. Land on team creation page.
3: Enter team name, hit create team. Land on team show page. Displays one member.
4: Go to team index page. Find new team. Number of members: 1
5: Go to user profile page. Find Team: Create a Team.
6: Go to team index page. Find new team. Number of members: 0
???

Also: at step 4, can click on show team and will land on team page. But after step 5 get access denied. So for some reason, going to the user profile kicks you off the team? Going to the tips index notably doesn't kick you off.
