Hi guys, I've been responding to most replies on GitHub issues for this project. As you may know, Tinderbox is completely abandoned now. And has been succeeded by Bernie http://www.bernie.ai/

Bernie has moved into Beta and if you're still interested in the project, it would be amazing to have you as an early user and help develop feedback. I'm still leaving Tinderbox up so others can have a peek at this project, but please do be aware there's zero support/updates/etc.

Best,
Justin

@crockpotveggies Hey Justin, thanks for the update.

  1. Do you know of any forks that are actively building on Tinderbox?
  2. Are you involved with Bernie? The website for Bernie, plus the lack of open source code, implies that the product will be profited on rather than being truly free.

  1. I'm not aware of any active forks. I did a thorough check of the forks a few months ago but saw nothing significant. Tinderbox needs a lot of major updates to its Tinder API client and Java 8 and I don't think anyone wants to take that on.
  2. I am indeed the founder of Bernie. I originally did not plan on pursuing the venture; however, I received much demand for updates/support/help that the only route that made sense was to create a real organization around the project. Bernie is also giving me an opportunity to pursue more advanced algorithms and achieve accuracy not possible with Eigenfaces. I am leaving Tinderbox up here in case people want to continue hacking on it (note there's strict non-commercial terms attached to it).

An additional note about number 2: people who contributed to the project _before_ November 1, 2015, are going to be offered a year of free usage on Bernie. This is for people who:

  • did not violate the non-commercial license attached to the project
  • contributed by pull requests and/or opened issues that identified a bug or solution

The offer above is not yet finalized (while Bernie is in private Beta it is complimentary anyways until we offer it publicly), although I intend on making the above offer.

If you have any other questions let me know! I'll be more than happy to answer them!

I have the same Issue here and looked a little bit at the Request with the Chrome Developer Extensions. The response seems to be just empty:

Hi everyone,

I'm following up from my previous comments on issues earlier this year. I promised to keep everyone in the loop on the successor to this prototype project, and it's now available. Bernie A.I. is now live in the App Store, and you're welcome to give it a try. A lot more effort has been put into making Bernie work, and it's going to be a lot more convenient.

You're still welcome to keep using Tinderbox, I have no plans to remove the Github project. Please keep in mind it is no longer supported.

Warmly,
Justin
