Hi looks like a great project just wondering what sort of results you get if only one person in the bed but they lying diagonally across does it say both sides are activated?
My bed frame won't allow the normal method of just weighing the bed which would allow you to know if one or two people in the bed regardless of where they are in it.
Just wondering how this reacts in that scenario.
Thanks

If you put weight on both sensors, they will both report weight, simple as that.
I have thought about different ways to handle your 2nd point. One idea would be to get a thin piece of wood or plastic roughly 2x as wide as the film sensor and affix the sensor to that, then place it between the box spring and mattress. That would essentially work in the same fashion as my setup. Placing the film sensor without any sort of support (the piece of wood or plastic) I would think would cause damage over time.
I have slats that not problem I meant the bed frame doesn't allow for putting load cells under it why I'm interested in your idea.
Was just hoping to be able to tell who is in bed which load cell approach would be able to tell who is in bed regardless of how they are laying.
But this approach only really tells you if a side is occupied but if a person lays across both it will still report 2 people where as the load cell would still report 1 person.
I'm looking to reliable know how many people are in the bed but we both have the tendency to lie diagonally when the other person is not in the bed lol.
