Currently, S-parameters are extracted for simulations where all ports are a single type (Mode/Lumped). In the microwave plugin, we have the option for mixing and matching Lumped/Wave variants.
However, it is common to excite a microwave device with different types of excitations. The motivating example is for antenna designs where users might want to excite the device with a planewave/field and compute the S-parameters at the output port which is a transmission line or waveguide modeled by a LumpedPort/WavePort/ModePort.
