Students did some Python simulation to determine what the effect of quantization noise was, especially in light of the fact that the noise is going to be concentrated at the fundamental and harmonic frequencies of the periodic wave we are measuring. It wasn't big enough to explain the non-repeatable nature of the bug that JD fixed with the bug fixes to the DMA branch of the software, but it will probably make measuring at harmonics difficult. We need to get them to commit their testing software.
We need to simulate things to determine if 1/f noise can be used for dithering to reduce this effect.
