Use Cases

Grayjay is the perfect car companion, can be at least.
Specially podcasts and other audio only content

However the current ui and presets are not optimal for that at all.
Personally i need to plan carefully what iam planning to listen to because switching in between is high risk of misclick with subsquent finding a parking spot

Proposal

it wouldnt require to much ui changes. mostly it would basically be a second settings profile (while using history and all the other data)
but a few added /removed things can go a logn way.

first ideas would be - default no video (or no video period) instead big controls for most nessesary things we need in a car.
so like seeking (the current double tap 10sec) and some easy to access next video / video list etc.

also avoid very small controls (like minimize down to a small bar) when in car mode

just as few starting ideas

Idea for car mode the taxi man: double tap next and back are maped vote on recommendations used to sort recommendations in the genre to a play list. I don't have time to build a playlist do you? I feel like that's almost a apple patent already 🔫.

Android auto (AA) needs some changes for this app as well. AA steals the bluetooth connection but doesn't outright play the sound even when there is something still playing on my phone, until I plug into my car. Ithen the media pauses. If I start playing something at that point, then get a notification sound, the Grayjay app stops ouputting sound, even when the video keeps playing. What I have to do then to get it to work is open Youtube qnd play something there. Suddenly, both Grayjay and YouTube are then playing at the same time. I hit pause on YouTube and GrayJay continues to work... Until I leave and return to my car.
