Code of Conduct

As contributors and maintainers of the Commit Copilot (coco), we are committed to fostering an open and inclusive community for everyone. We value the participation of individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives and aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all.

We expect all participants in the project to adhere to the following code of conduct. These guidelines help ensure that everyone feels respected and included and that constructive collaboration can take place.

Be Respectful and Inclusive

Treat all individuals with respect, kindness, and empathy. Respect and value diverse opinions, experiences, and perspectives. Be considerate of others' backgrounds and experiences and be open to learning from one another.

Foster a Safe Environment

We strive to create an environment where everyone feels safe and comfortable to participate. Harassment, discrimination, and any form of harmful behavior will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, offensive comments, personal attacks, trolling, and the use of explicit or offensive language.

Be Collaborative and Constructive

Promote a collaborative and constructive atmosphere by providing helpful and constructive feedback. Aim to build each other up and contribute positively to discussions and interactions. Focus on problem-solving and avoid unnecessary criticism or negativity.

Follow the Project Guidelines

Adhere to the project's guidelines, including its coding standards, documentation conventions, and contribution guidelines. Respect the maintainers' decisions and provide constructive feedback when necessary.

Reporting Incidents

If you witness or experience any behavior that violates this code of conduct, please report it immediately to the project maintainers by contacting [email address or relevant contact information]. All reports will be kept confidential and will be promptly addressed.

Consequences of Violations

Instances of unacceptable behavior may result in temporary or permanent exclusion from project-related spaces and activities at the discretion of the project maintainers. Serious or repeated violations may have further consequences determined by the project team.

Our Pledge

Commit Copilot is dedicated to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of their background or identity. We pledge to enforce this code of conduct and to respond appropriately and fairly to any reports of violations.

We invite all contributors, whether they are developers, users, or community members, to help us create a positive and collaborative environment for the entire coco community.

Acknowledgements

This code of conduct is inspired by the Contributor Covenant (version 2.1) and the Open Code of Conduct. We are grateful to their authors and the wider open source community for their efforts in promoting inclusive and respectful communities.
