A alignment report publication would allow for:

citing the report in scholarly communication
humans to read how the name alignment came about
machines to read how the name alignment came about
cross-infrastructure publication of the alignment report (e.g., publish in zenodo, github and a data journal without having to change their formatting/ packaging).
