The subjunctive mood is used in Spanish to express doubts, wishes, emotions, and hypothetical situations. Understanding the basics can elevate your language skills to a more advanced level.

Key Vocabulary and Phrases:

  1. Quiero que - I want that
  2. Espero que - I hope that
  3. Temo que - I fear that
  4. Ojalá que - Hopefully/I wish that
  5. Dudo que - I doubt that

Basic Conjugations for the verb 'Ser':

  • Yo sea
  • Tú seas
  • Él/ella/usted sea
  • Nosotros/nosotras seamos
  • Vosotros/vosotras seáis
  • Ellos/ellas/ustedes sean

Examples in Sentences:

  1. Quiero que:
