Obsolete "OBO foundry unique label"?

It is a bit confusing that we have a policy of non-overlapping scopes on the one hand and on the other this property. Can someone describe to me its use case again?

The use case is to enable two ontologies to use the same label for different terms, e.g. vector as the mathematical concept or an organism transmitting diseases. Or 'cell', which could be a biological cell, terrorist cell, prison cell, honeycomb cell, battery cell, etc. And in the specific ontology, it is obvious what they mean, and they don't want to use the longer label (e.g. the cell ontology wants to use 'cell'). The idea was to use namespaces as a prefix (e.g: CL-cell) to allow to merge such ontologies, but also to enable and encourage people to provide a full longer label that makes the results more readable in the 'OBO foundry unique name'. This is not yet in much use, as there isn't as much merging of ontologies ongoing as I would like. But as we 'cob-ble' together ontologies, this should be useful, and I would not want to obsolete. - Bjoern
