With the kernel v5.15.129 and using the i915 driver as built-in module on my hardware it hang the kernel load on the follow log:

[drm] Initialized i915 1.6.0 20201103 for 0000:00:02.0 on minor 0

Making some debug by print I reach the i915_hwmon_register which is the function that does not return.
My hardware is an Intel(R) Atom(TM) x5-Z8350

Interestingly, this did not occur in v5.10...

on the Kernel v6.1 I saw that was introduced a check:

https://github.com/intel/linux-intel-lts/blob/e13503e423ba533c6c4304fd242e8f001005706d/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_hwmon.c#L791C2-L792C21

void i915_hwmon_register(struct drm_i915_private *i915)
{
...
        /* hwmon is available only for dGfx */
	if (!IS_DGFX(i915))

this should not be checked also for the v5.15.129?

If I add the follow on the code from v5.15.129:

        /* hwmon is available only for dGfx */
	if (!IS_DGFX(i915))
               return;

It works, so now I'm thinking why without this on the v5.10 works...

Well, I take back what I said, I got the latest update of v5.10 the 5.10.184 and the issue is the same...

On my machine, which has CONFIG_PAGE_SIZE_16KB=y, the test failed at
loading a BPF prog with 2039 instructions:

  prog = (struct bpf_prog *)ffff80001b894000
  insn = (struct bpf_insn *)(prog->insnsi)ffff80001b894048
  insn + 2039 = (struct bpf_insn *)ffff80001b898000 <- end of the page

In the build_insn() function, we are trying to access next instruction
unconditionally, i.e. `(insn + 1)->imm`. The address lies in the next
page and can be not owned by the current process, thus an page fault is
inevitable and then segfault.

So, let's access next instruction only under `dst = imm64` context.

With this fix, we have:

  # ./test_tag
  test_tag: OK (40945 tests)

On my machine, which has CONFIG_PAGE_SIZE_16KB=y, the test failed at
loading a BPF prog with 2039 instructions:

  prog = (struct bpf_prog *)ffff80001b894000

  insn + 2039 = (struct bpf_insn *)ffff80001b898000 <- end of the page

inevitable and then segfault.

So, let's access next instruction only under `dst = imm64` context.

commit ab9e0c5 upstream.

If e.g. the ata_port_alloc() call in ata_host_alloc() fails, we will jump
to the err_out label, which will call devres_release_group().
devres_release_group() will trigger a call to ata_host_release().
ata_host_release() calls kfree(host), so executing the kfree(host) in
ata_host_alloc() will lead to a double free:

Ensure that we will not call kfree(host) twice, by performing the kfree()
only if the devres_open_group() call failed.

commit ab9e0c5 upstream.

If e.g. the ata_port_alloc() call in ata_host_alloc() fails, we will jump
to the err_out label, which will call devres_release_group().
devres_release_group() will trigger a call to ata_host_release().
ata_host_release() calls kfree(host), so executing the kfree(host) in
ata_host_alloc() will lead to a double free:
