The transparency is removed from PNG images currently by the Android plugin you have implemented. I recommend using this plugin instead as it supports transparency, and it has additional built-in features such as rotation.
I will look into doing it myself, but as I am unfamiliar with the inner workings of this plugin I don't know if I will have the time to dedicate to completely get it working.
