As discussed on Slack, there are some deprecated elements listed in the metaschema that are not actually supported. For example the draft 2020-12 metaschema includes $recursiveAnchor and $recursiveRef.

I wouldn't change the existing meta-schemas. We try not to change them unless we have to. However, I fully support removing those for the next release. I was planning on suggesting it myself.

@Anshul439, we don't have a timeline on the next release. Also, we typically reserve spec issues (this repo) for TSC and other established experts. If you're looking to contribute somewhere, please visit us in Slack and read through the org's contributing guide to see where we're looking for help.
