In some of the issues I've seen, the challenge has seemed more related to 32-bit OS vs. 64-bit OS, as Lego only ever released a 32-bit driver for Windows. On Linux, though, community contributions have made the Lego USB tower functional on both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
Do I dare try to get this working in Windows 10? The USB support alone might be a quagmire.
It probably needs to be native Windows support, and not through WSL or MinGW.
