VSCode Remote-Containers Clone Repo into Container command doesn't ask for a URL

• Problem: As stated
• Status: Problem confirmed by Sullivan for one student.
• Hypothesis: Could be that we missed a dependency on git in our set-up instructions.
• Evidence: Git: Command git.api.getRemoteSources should still work without Git installed microsoft/vscode-remote-release#3881.
• The experiment we're trying:
  • Install git
    • Windows: Install Git for Windows
    • OSX/MacOS:
      • open Terminal on your computer
      • enter the command: git --version
      • Agree to install git (if it's not already installed)
  • Try the Clone Repo into Container command again in VSCode

Even when I Install Git, the Command still doesn't ask for a URL.

I'm on MacOs and I installed it through Terminal with the instructions you provided. However, I just realized that I didn't even have step 1 completed (updating my Mac). I'll let you know how it goes after my software update finishes.
