Setting up your profile

When you are first getting started with {{site.data.keyword.Bluemix}}, set up your account profile. Go to the {{site.data.keyword.avatar}} icon Avatar icon > View Profile to set or update your profile settings. {:shortdesc}

You can set or update the following information:

  • A profile photo that is visible to other {{site.data.keyword.Bluemix_notm}} users
  • IBMid information which includes your name, email, phone number, password, company, and role
  • Analytics tracking setting

You might also want to sign up for notifications or check out your support options so you know where to go and what to do if you run into any problems.

Changing your profile photo

Go to the {{site.data.keyword.avatar}} icon Avatar icon > View Profile.

  • To add a photo, click UPLOAD A PHOTO.
  • To replace your current photo with a new one, click CHANGE PHOTO.
  • To remove your photo, click Remove Photo.

Editing your IBMid information

An IBMid is a single ID that you use to log in to your {{site.data.keyword.Bluemix_notm}} account for infrastructure, services, and application features. Your IBMid is the same ID that you can use to access other IBM applications.

You can't change your IBMid, but you can edit your profile information that is associated with it, such as your name, email, phone number, password, or company name.

  1. Go to the {{site.data.keyword.avatar}} icon Avatar icon > View Profile.
  2. Click edit your IBMid.
  3. Edit your user information.
  4. Click Save.

Analytics tracking setting

{: #tracking}

Actions in the {{site.data.keyword.Bluemix_notm}} console are tracked by default. Tracking enables the {{site.data.keyword.Bluemix_notm}} team to build a better experience for you and provide better support. The data collected is not used or shared for other purposes.

If you choose to disable tracking, you might not be able to use some features, such as chat communications.

To disable analytics tracking, complete the following steps:

  1. Go to the {{site.data.keyword.avatar}} icon Avatar icon > View Profile.
  2. Set analytics tracking to off.
