So I go to Novation Components and create a new custom mode for LPX.
When I later go to https://fw.mat1jaczyyy.com/modes to import/upload that mode it says:

Invalid mode file: Error: DATA

I've also tried to download my older custom modes från Novation Components and they does not work either.

Can you upload some custom mode syx files that are broken?

This is most likely because I haven't implemented support for latest Components in CFW yet, they have changed the file format and I haven't yet been able to find the time to reverse engineer it.

You can probably work around this by switching to old Components (Windows link)

I got it to work by creating a custom mode for LP PRO mk3.

@mat1jaczyyy all custom modes made for the lpx on components are broken, but any custom modes made for pro mk3 can be used on your firmware tool

a simple workaround is download the custom mode for lpx, upload it as a custom mode for pro mk3 on components, then use the firmware tool to flash it to cfw

interesting workaround

technically they aren't broken, just that the format has been updated on novations side and i havent updated it on lpfwu/cfw side. i will do it eventually:tm:
