Handle URLs without schema better?

story-indexer sees URLs from rss-fetcher that are missing a schema (ie; //hostname/path...) and discards them.

In an HTML document, a URL without a schema means "use the same schema as the URL this page was fetched with", and RSS fetcher could do the same, since it has the URL of the source (RSS or sitemap) document...
