google translate causes crash

Sentry shows us that a bunch of users have experienced crashes due to this issue.

The workaround seems to be just to prevent translation from occuring:

While this may deter some users from using the platform, we don't have support for other languages anyway so it allowing google to translate our site (and therefore remove our control of the language displayed) may not be a good idea anway
