Considering taking any AIO docker image for example - aio-whiteboard

https://hub.docker.com/r/nextcloud/aio-whiteboard/tags

you can't find image nextcloud/aio-whiteboard:

only latest & timestamp tags are available

Implement CI/CD for to push images with release version as tags

Describe alternatives you've considered

check out specific release version on GitHub, build images on your own. Honestly, this sucks, it's not required when images are pushed to docker hub.

Instead of using the aio-whiteboard image, you could use the ghcr image directly, no?

whiteboard was an example; this apply to all aio images.

while my setup was not working, I even tried to rollback to older versions, but I was unable to do so, due to unavailability of docker images

You can already roll back by using the timestamp tags.

We dont want to motivate people to use version tags as the built-in updates and updatenotifications are not working in that case due to technical reasons.
