Advancing Equity-Oriented Digital Health Systems through Collaborative Innovation

What We Are Doing:

The GSSO Research Hub is advancing Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) to modernize gender, sex, and sexual orientation (GSSO) information practices in digital health systems. By integrating open science principles, innovative tools, and community-driven approaches, we aim to co-create inclusive standards and methods that address systemic inequities in healthcare.

Why We Are Doing This:

Our work seeks to create lasting change by enabling equitable access to healthcare and fostering trust in digital health systems. By addressing gaps in representation and inclusivity, this project will empower healthcare providers and researchers to better serve equity-deserving groups, including Indigenous Peoples, 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals, and women. Ultimately, we aim to ensure that digital health systems reflect the diverse needs of health system users and promote better health outcomes for marginalized communities.

Who Are the Users and Contributors:

Our project is for healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, and equity-deserving communities who benefit from and contribute to inclusive digital health standards. Contributors include transdisciplinary teams of academic experts, practitioners, community members with lived experience, and organizations committed to equity, who work together to design and implement transformative solutions.
