As described in #2567, we have multiple reasons for migrating from our current API solution (using Flask).

TODO:

  • verify FastAPI is the most suitable solution (if you find out there is other alternative, discuss with the team)
  • research what the migration will require (bigger code/design changes to consider)
  • plan the implementation task(s) accordingly (under Move from Flask to FastAPI for the API #2567)
