Support for Firefox on mobile #184
Comments
Hi, the extension is not officially supported in mobile devices. I haven't tried it myself and I don't really have the time (currently) to investigate what would be needed to get it working. Would you be able to shed some more light on what would need to be done on top of the current extension to support the mobile Firefox browser? |
Currently, the extension is unavailable on AMO for mobile devices. I could experiment by installing this manually on Firefox. Here's a guide on how to develop extentions for mobile: https://extensionworkshop.com/documentation/develop/developing-extensions-for-firefox-for-android/ |
I'd be interested in hearing if it still works if you are able to manually install this. As I said, I'm not going to have much time to devote to this any time soon, but I'll leave the issue open to track it. |
Mozilla has added support for unsupported extensions to Fennec (F-Droid) and Nightly. If you use a Firefox account, I recommend creating your own collection, but for those who do not you can use the following User ID and Collection name to try the extension on mobile:
It only includes the one extension so not so useful but you can use it to test before creating your own collection with the extensions you normally use. |
Firefox has now begun opening up many extensions for the stable version of Firefox for Android |
