Android app cannot read device camera folder

Describe the bug

Pixel 8, Android 14 / 15, Rooted (Magisk 28.1)
Memories ver 1.12 (tried older versions)
Unable to read device camera folder. Already grant permission for all storage. Run multiple times "run initial device setup".
The app is able to read other image folders (such as download, pictures, instagram etc) but never read DCIM/Camera folder. Tried to clear storage, clear cache, uninstall, reinstall and / or with previous version. Tried to rename DCIM folder name, rename DCIM/Camera folder name. Still does not locate the Camera folder. Therefore does not show device photos in "Timeline".
Did not work on Android 14, upgraded to Android 15 recently but still the same.
Haven't tried last resort: Factory reset but seems does not worth to do it.
