The IndieWeb has a lightweight alternative to RSS/Atom: https://indieweb.org/feed

IndieWeb feeds are real easy to parse and positively trivial to publish (you just have to add a couple of HTML classes to your blog entries). It'd be nice if Blaggregator supported these feeds :)

Looks like there is a fork of feedparser that can parse these feeds.
