Enhance the Detailed Usage Report to make it more user-friendly and actionable.

Details Under Consideration

Updates to the Existing Export

1. Incorporate an Estimated "Dollar Amount" Column

   • Objective: Provide an estimated cost for each line item based on standard rates.
   • Benefit: Simplifies the process for customers by eliminating the need for them to perform their own cost calculations.
   • Notes:
     • Display a disclaimer indicating that the actual billed amount may differ due to custom billing, discounts, or coupons applied at the time of invoicing.
     • Consider making this column optional.

2. Add Conversion from GB-Hours to TB-Months, Egress TB, and Segment Months

   • Objective: Include conversions of GB-hours to TB-months, egress TB, and segment months within the report.
   • Benefit: Enables customers to use this information to bill their own end users, providing a more granular level of detail that includes buckets rather than just projects, similar to what they see on their monthly Storj invoices.
   • Notes:
     • Consider using a conversion factor of 720 hours per month to standardize the calculation.
     • Include an option to display the USD billed for these metrics, with a disclaimer about the estimated nature of the amount.

3. Add a Monthly Snapshot Report
   • Objective: Create an additional report that provides monthly snapshots of usage.
   • Benefit: Helps users track usage trends over time, providing better insight into their storage and bandwidth needs compared to the current report that covers a custom time range. This report would present data in units that customers are more familiar with and how they are actually billed, simplifying their understanding and usage.
