Calling the each item a "slashtag" is okay, but referring to the whole use case as Slashtag feels awkward while calling the protocol Slashtags. Is this not "Slashtags"?
Should this be something more descriptive, like SlashID, or SlashNames, or Accounts? Or, what do you recommend?

Accounts won't work, because it means an entry in someone else's database.
Let's leave names for now as they are not human readable, and might fit better future aliasing efforts.
I can live with SlashID similarly to DID, Slashtags identifier is fine by me. there is also a Slashtag URL or SlashURL.
Naming is hard and I am not the best at it, to be honest.
There is also room for improvement by making sure to distinguish between the identifier and its controller (the person or machine).
