Hey dude, I'm going to take a guess and say its because you've not added the new master server that we are all now using to your server.cfg - all of the official master servers (which control the server list) went offline a few years back and so JKHub actually created their own one which is what's used in TaystJK to re-enable the server list in-game. For your server to show up, you need to add it to the server.cfg.
If sv_master1 is already in use, then you can change the number or replace it. The only one currently functioning is the jkhub master server. Let me know how you go! :) |
Thank you for replying dude you have no idea how much that made my day! So I tried what you said and unfortunately my server still didn't show up in the server list. So here's everything I've done so far as well as what shows up when I launch the .exe: So this is the port forwarding: The server.cfg file I have, as you can see I added the line you gave me: This is the command line I added to the shortcut: And this is what I get when I launch the .exe: So tell me what's wrong please, what am I missing? I really want to create this server! Again, thank you so much dude |
Hello |
Hey sorry for not replying sooner I missed the email notification. Whereabouts is the server.cfg located, is that just in your GameData folder? or is it in the taystJK folder? Are your other settings, such as server name and whatnot taking effect? Also I notice in your target line you have +set dedicated 2 - this should be set to 1 as far as I'm aware, this could possibly be the issue? Give that a go and let me know. |
It's okay dude, Welcome back! So server.cfg is located at Gamedata => base folder. It's not in the TastJK folder. Yes server name appears in "local" list both when I run multiplayer on my computer (the one that's hosting), and the another one connected to the same wifi About which value you put after dedicated, I looked it up, and it's 1 for local, and 2 for internet. And it's internet by default so if you erase the line entirely the server should still run in internet. I also tested it myself and got the same result for both 1 and 2 I posted the same issue on Jkhub.org forum so you can check it out there as well (I just replied to somebody): https://jkhub.org/forums/topic/13241-my-server-doesnt-show-up-on-server-list-2025-help-needed/ Thanks for reading |
Oops yes I’m sorry, I forgot for a minute that I deliberately set mine to local because I have a separate proxy server that I use for people to join via and the proxy lists the server on the master server. I have it that way to hide the real IP of the server and so no one can attack the server itself, only the proxy. Try adding |
First I'd like to thank you all for TaystJK, it's pretty awesome!
For the past week I've been trying to create a server to play Jedi Academy with my hometown friends, with no success. I've read every tutorial online, followed every step (port forwarding, downloaded a server.cfg I found in JKhub.org and copied it to my game files, added the command line to shortcut of Taystjkded.x86_64.exe). But everytime I launch it my server can't be found in neither internet1 nor 2 nor 3. It's only found in local.
So I don't know what I did wrong or what I should do to fix it. The content I found online is little and outdated, and nothing Taystjk specific. Nothing Taystjk server side. It's been really frustrating these past few days trying to setup a server.
So I'd really love it if you could give me clear step-by-step instructions on how to setup a Jedi Academy server in 2025
Thank you for reading and hoping to get a reply soon
Take care!
