questions about early adopters, IPT, examples, help desk sessions, outreach

Hi Everyone, thanks Latimer Core folks for inviting discussion here. I'm very much looking forward to seeing LtC get adopted and implemented. For my part, I started out as one of the folks taking part in getting this standard development (re)started from the original Natural Collections Descriptions (NCD). Currently, I work with taxonomists and collections staff at the University of Illinois, Prairie Research Institute and Illinois Natural History Survey as a Biodiversity Informatics Community Liaison. And as a former TDWG Chair, it's exciting to see this standard move forward. I think it will do a lot to help us to not only better grasp the scope and scale of collections worldwide ... it will also help collections staff and the organizations that steward these collections (digital and physical) to know what makes them unique and what data and specimens they have that can help others with related collections.

Questions:

1. I'm curious to know who the early adopters might be? GBIF?
2. Is it possible, the metadata form of the Integrated Publishing Toolkit (IPT) will be enhanced to include fields (aka terms, concepts, elements) that LtC offers so that we can better understand a) our collections and b) our respective datasets associated with entire collections or subsets of those collections?
3. I'm guessing you'll be providing some examples for people?
4. Will there perhaps be help sessions to assist people to use this new standard and understand how it benefits them? Maybe sessions at SPNHC-TDWG2024 and DigitalData and BioDigiCon for example?
