While not that many relevant geographical changes have occurred across the world in the twenty years since the second editions, some did, which must be decided on:

• Separation of Sudan and South Sudan (split of SUD)
• Creation of Ladakh (split of IND-JK)
• Creation of Telangana (split of IND-AP)
• Creation of Ñuble (split of CLC-BI)
• Name change of Chita (former Chita Oblast + Agin-Buryat Autonomous Okrug) to Zabaykalsky Krai (code change for CTA)
