Here are some notes for webinars.

The goal was to show a prerecorded video and do live Q&A (with camera)

  • I used GNU/Linux Ubuntu 20.10 on X11
  • built custom obs to enable v4l2loopback
  • unpluged real webcam
  • modprobe -v v4l2loopback
  • pluged real webcam
  • start obs
  • obs / create scene : window capture (I captured Firefox window set as fullscreen)
    • optinnaly add some text, , add videocapture (real camera)
  • obs/ desktop audio : -8.5 db & mic/aux : -2.2 db
  • firefox/ show content (i played an existing video from peertube in Firefox)
  • PulseAudio Volume/ Obs Monitor : notmutted, not locked , 110%

Then I am joining the WebRTC conference (ie: jitsi)

  • camera to share : dummy video device 0x0000
  • microphone to share : Monitor of Buildin Audio analog stereo
