This repository presents hypothetical scenarios based on publicly available information from Mexico's ISO. The instance is built from data published by CENACE in Mexico using the limits and offers of generators found in CENACE Generator Offers. The instance we have created is based on information dated 26 August 2020.

The demand for the zones is also extracted from the same site. The operating limits of the generators used are as offered; however, the generator's parameters were artificially created (ramps, min-up/down times). We use the transmission network comprising 43 regions projected by PRODESEN2018.

Regional Network

The technical characteristics of the lines were taken from Andrés Ibarra's thesis

The figure below depicts the regions' demand using red circles. The straight lines connecting the regions represent the tie lines; when they are in green, there is no saturation, but when shown in red, it indicates saturation in the tie line. The 24 hours of the scenario are represented.

The operational data of the generators and the data related to the reservoirs have been artificially generated from data from PRODESEN2018, Juan R. Bustos et al.'s thesis and the reports generated by CENACE Hydraulic Evolution.

It is important to note that these scenarios do not reflect or represent the actual operations of ISO but rather serve as a theoretical model projecting patterns and calculations to illustrate potential outcomes. The purpose of this work is to compare these scenarios with similar dimensions to the current system employed in Mexico to evaluate the mathematical model's performance.
