We aim to enhance the accessibility of this library by integrating support for screen readers. This improvement will ensure that users who rely on screen readers can effectively navigate and interact with UIs built using this library.

Objectives:

  • Implement basic text-to-speech functionality using the Sherpa-ONNX library.
  • Ensure that all UI components are accessible.
  • Preferably ask screen reader users to try out sample UIs and sum up their findings. If necessary, create new issues to address relevant feedback.

Benefits:

  • Improved accessibility for users with visual impairments.
  • Enhanced user experience for a broader audience.
  • Compliance with accessibility standards and guidelines (preferably at least single A).

Impact:

By adding accessibility support, we will make our library more inclusive, allowing screen reader users to navigate and use UIs seamlessly. This will significantly improve the usability of applications built with this library for users with disabilities.
