An update checker has been requested in the past, so here it is. Only enabled for release binaries.

  • Will check every 7 days (more?)
  • Downloads an XML from https://friction.graphics/update.xml
    • XML has a stable and devel version
      • If your existing version is Beta or RC the devel version will be used
  • Shows a dialog ('never', 'ignore', 'download') if version is newer

May contain bugs (late night coding). This feature requires changes to the privacy policy.

Could add:

  • Manual 'check for update' menu action in 'help'
  • A way to re-enable if disabled
  • Add a check interval in settings (or 'help' menu)
