v0.1.0

This is the initial release of this library and is meant mostly to help convey the idea that we are heading towards a stable 1.0 version. I'm going to try to keep the roadmap up to date on what features are planned and how things are progressing.

Note that the library is still considered alpha level and will have API level changes. Hopefully those will settle out more after we get through the current work (see roadmap).
