Split Authorisation and Capture (Merchant Capture)

What is Split Authorisation and Capture (Merchant Capture)?

For card payments, you can pre-authorise a card to reserve funds before you capture and process the payment at a later date.

You have to capture the funds before the authorisation expires, and you can view the expiry date for an authorised payment on the Payment Details page. Once the authorisation expires, the reserved funds are released and the payment will show an Expired status. You will no longer be able to capture the funds when a payment expires.

What you need to know in advance?

• At the moment, Split Authorization and Capture (Merchant Capture) needs to be activated in your Mollie account. Please contact Mollie Support [email protected] for activation.
• You can only create one capture per payment.
• If you capture less than the authorised amount, the remaining amount will be released.
• The default capture mode is Automatically capture credit card amounts. You need to change the capture mode manually, if you want to use the Split Authorisation and Capture Feature

What payment methods support Split Authorisation and Capture (Merchant Capture)?

At the moment, Split Authorization and Capture (Merchant Capture) is only supported by Credit Card with Payment API.

Configuration

If you want to use Split Authorization and Capture (Merchant Capture), you can activate this in the payment type Credit Card in the OXID backend with the following options:

Capture Method	Authenticate credit card before capture Directly capture credit card amounts Automatically capture credit card amounts	If Authenticate credit card before capture is chosen, the amount will be authorized and you have to manually capture the amount via the mollie tab within the order or via provided cron job If Directly capture credit card amounts is chosen, the amount will be directly captured If Automatically capture credit card amounts is chosen, the amount will be automatically captured by mollie after X days. You can choose between 1 an 7 days.
Automatically Capture after	1 - 7	This option is only available if Automatically capture credit card amounts is selected as Capture Method. Mollie will automatically capture the amount after the here selected days.
